We call small businesses, mostly the small, blue collar businesses. For group leads, we speak with a decision maker who has part in deciding what insurance coverage the company will purchase. When developing individual leads, we speak with whoever answers the phone regarding their personal insurance coverage. Usually half of the respondents will be owners or managers while the remaining half will be any other person who works for the business. Owner/Manager leads are available in certain markets for an extra charge.
Initially, we screen each potential lead as to whether or not they have insurance. We offer those who have no insurance the service of you, the agent, calling them, sharing with them what you have available, and giving them a quote. So they know they will be solicited. Those who already have insurance in place and are paying the full premiums are offered the service of you reviewing what they have and giving them a comparison quote.
Our pitch includes your name and your company name (optional) as the one who will be calling. For agencies, we can say "an agent" with your agency will be calling. We ask the respondent if they would like to hear from you. Those who respond positively are written up as a lead. Then, our marketer asks for the person's last name, the best time to have you call them, and a few other pertinent questions before thanking them for their time. In the process of completing the lead form, our telemarketer will mention your name another couple of times to help solidify your name in their mind as the agent who will be contacting them. Each telemarketer is encouraged to use their own personality in the context of professionalism and courtesy in developing leads.
Leads are then faxed to you within 24 to 48 hours of generation, so they are fresh and warm. Our leads are exclusively yours and never sold to any other agent.
Our regular customers tell us they experience a positive response from two thirds to three quarters of the leads they receive. These same agents are generally selling twenty percent or more of the total number of leads purchased. There will always be a percentage of respondents who say "yes" just to get us off the phone, who change their mind between the time we call and you call them back, or who present other objections. Our telemarketers do not generate the leads with any kind of pressure to develop the warmest leads possible.
